    Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment are meant to empower patients to make decisions about their treatment and whether they desire aggressive treatments in serious emergencies. We showcase an article by Dr. Kelly Vranas evaluating how these orders actually influenced treatment.
  • When Infection Control Policies Don't Protect You: The Role of Environment in Long-Term Care Facilities
    Proper hand hygeine and protective equipment are the gold standard practices to prevent the spread of antibiotic resistant infections. We present research conducted by Drs. Chris Pfeiffer and Graeme Forrest, who spent over a year observing patient and staff interactions in long-term care facilities to evaluate adherence to hygeine guidelines.
